<p><strong>Possessive adjectives</strong> like other adjectives, agree in gender and number with the nouns they modify.</p>

<p>The forms <strong>mon</strong>, <strong>ton</strong>, and <strong>son</strong> are used instead of <strong>ma</strong>, <strong>ta</strong> and <strong>sa</strong> before a feminine singular noun beginning with a vowel or silent h.</p>

<p>The nouns <strong>monsieur</strong>, <strong>madame</strong>, and <strong>mademoiselle</strong>, originally composed of a possessive adjective and a noun, form their plural by changing each part to the plural.</p>
