This course may also be taken to satisfy the Physical Science requirement for General Education. Print it out and bring to class every time.</div> <div>Basic scientific calculator: You should have access to a basic scientific calculator (required), for example a TI-30X IIS. PROGRAMMABLE OR GRAPHING CALCULATORS OR ANY DEVICE WITH COMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITY, SUCH AS A CELLPHONE, TABLET OR LAPTOP IS NOT ALLOWED TO DO CALCULATIONS.</div> <div>Attendance: You are expected to attend every class. Attendance means you should arrive on time, be willing to participate in class discussions and be prepared. As a minimum, you should read through the appropriate textbook and/or lecture material before class. Please set your schedule accordingly to this course meeting time.</div> <ul> <li>Safety Goggles (you may purchase them in the bookstore or from any other sources) are mandatory in the lab.</li> <li>You need to bring to class the respective lab procedure. The lab procedures are available on our Canvas class in module Laboratory ""</li> <li>You need to have a lab-notebook and bring to every laboratory period. The lab notebook is a quadrille paper, hard cover "Comp Book" and you must have it by the second class meeting. The details of the lab notebook organization and keeping up are provided on our Canvass class in the module "Laboratory". You will only be allowed to use your lab-notebook during laboratory tests.</li> <li>Wearing goggles and following laboratory safety procedures will be strictly enforced.</li> <li>Attire:</li> </ul> <div>You must wear pants that cover ankles.<br /> No skirts are allowed-unless required by Religious/Cultural reasons; they have to be long enough to cover ankles<br /> You must wear closed toed & closed heeled shoes. Sandals, high-heel etc., shoes, are not<br /> permitted in the lab. Tank tops and shorts are not allowed in the lab.<br /> Long hair need to be tied back and secured.</div> <ul> <li>If you come to the lab wearing improper attire you will be excused and you will lose points for that experiment.</li> </ul> <h2 type="section" data-unnumbered="true" id="lab-reports-and-grades" class="section-title"> LAB REPORTS AND GRADES</h2> <div>Lab reports need to be submitted at beginning of the next laboratory exercise.
